The rules we hold ourselves to when writing about teeth whitening.
Sourcing
Factual and efficacy claims cite primary sources: the American Dental Association (ADA), the UK's NHS, Cochrane Oral Health systematic reviews, and peer-reviewed dental journals (Journal of the American Dental Association, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Dentistry). We do not use statistics or study results that we cannot link to a checkable source.
Medical review
Pillar pages, safety pages, and product reviews are reviewed by licensed dental professionals before publication. Reviewer names, credentials, and review dates are displayed on the page.
Corrections & updates
We correct errors visibly. When we materially update a page based on new evidence or corrections, the "Last updated" date changes and a note is added to a public change log. Please report an error.

This site participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Wherever a link may earn us a commission, we display an affiliate disclosure near the link - not buried in the footer. Affiliate relationships do not determine which methods or products we cover, nor how we cover them. Products are selected and evaluated using our review methodology.
What we won't do
- Guarantee specific shade improvements or timeframes.
- Fabricate reviewer credentials or author bios.
- Publish before-and-after imagery implying real user results without disclosure.
- Endorse DIY methods without noting evidence gaps and enamel-erosion risks.
